What’s Next?

Since winning the Democratic primary we have been working incredibly hard preparing for the general election on November 5th.  Mark has been busy meeting with voters and elected officials from around the state and even a few presidential candidates. He’s listening and learning about what’s important to the people of the 96th. 

The 96th has been in Republican control for the last 20 years and we have a plan to WIN BACK this seat and we cannot do this without your help. 

Every vote counts is a common theme in every election and we want to go beyond that. Our goal is to Leave no voter behind. We have an aggressive plan that only a candidate like Dr. Mark Downey can execute. Our district will be the model for Democrats in long-held Republican seats to replicate.

We are thrilled to announce that former 96th primary candidate, Rebecca Leser, has joined Team Downey! Rebecca earned the respect of the voters of the 96th and the admiration of Mark and Team Downey.  Rebecca contributed the balance of her campaign funds to Downey For Virginia which was extremely gracious. Please welcome her aboard! Rebecca will focus on Fundraising and Field Directing!

Today is the end of the finance reporting period in Virginia and we know your inbox has been probably inundated with presidential candidates asking for donations. Our election will change the control of the Virginia House of Delegates and we must raise over $250,000 to get our message to voters!

We cannot afford to lose this seat and Mark is already being attacked for being a doctor!  Please help us by midnight tonight! Every dollar counts. Don’t assume $5-$20 is not helpful- IT IS!
